Popcorn

Popcorn (c. 1979) is just one of those books that you have to read and experience for yourself.  Written and illustrated by the beloved Frank Asch (of Happy Birthday Moon), it's a Halloween costume party sure to surprise.  Oh, and a quick word of warning, read it before you decide to pop your popcorn.

  1. I've enjoyed reading each one of your suggestions. I usually check out Amazon and put the books on my wish list for my next order. I nearly died when I saw how much is being asked for this book. $100. Evidently, it's now considered a collectible. Ouch!

I'm going to pass on this one but I'm definitely getting The Spider and the Fly - that one looks like an awesome read!

  2. Thanks for your comment in my blog. I'm glad that you liked it. But the real find is yours. How can I say it. I wish I had smaller kids - my 2 boys are already 11 and 8. I wish I were a kid myself. To read all your findings. And still, there are such treasures there that I can help but following your blog. I just need more kids around now :-)

  3. Me again. I've been browsing through your 8-13 section, but my eldest has already read Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and devours that sort of fantastic fiction. The younger one is surrounded by his admired brother's books, and while both liked Dr Seuss type of books very much, they sat on the shelf for a while already :-)
